I am building an experimental aircraft and I am finishing up the final touches of appearance on it, but it is nowhere near ready to take to the sky because I simply have no engine. I want to try making everything homemade, including the engine. If you have an idea for a jet engine or propeller that I can make, please give me DETAILED instructions on how to assemble it, and a list of equipment I'll need & where I can buy it. I have already read the eHow articles on homemade jet engines, and when I saw the finished product, I made the conclusion that they are too small to satisfy my needs. Here are some of the things that I am REQUIRING for it...

lets say you have just finished your brand new jet engine! What a proud moment! But of course, your not stupid! your not going to just bolt in your engine to your aircraft. No! your going to test it first. so you are standing beside your jet and have just started her up! but oh no! whats this. it seems you made a slight engineering error. one of your blades is a hairs width smaller than the rest. it gets up to 10,000 rpm and the the whole engine explodes. metal goes everywhere! even into you!
